Waffle Pupa Orange #12–14 The Waffle Pupa Orange is a super-effective foam caddis pupa, designed by our tying workshops contact tyer Niklas Dahlin, inspired by Swedish fly tyer John Robert Wilson. A waffled foam rear body (pressed with hackle pliers) gives the fly a segmented, lifelike look that both anglers and trout love. The pattern sits more in than on the surface film and stays there, even in rough water. The thorax is a buggy blend of Hare’s Ear and Partridge fibres, creating a very natural silhouette of an emerging caddis. A deadly choice on warm summer evenings when caddis are hatching and trout are cruising just under the surface.
